Staggered 21s, Aventador‑wide presence, and daily‑duty strength.

Fitment, Finish & Engineering Development

This 2022 Model S project set out to blend supercar presence with real-world usability. We spec’d a staggered 21×9.5 (front) / 21×10.5 (rear) setup on Michelin Pilot Sport 4S, and tuned the geometry for flush up front and aggressive-flush with a hint of poke in the rear. The stance reads nearly Aventador-wide—exactly the visual we wanted—while the engineering prioritizes strength for heavy-EV duty and the realities of city streets.

To keep this build practical, we retained OEM-spec tire sizing. That meant no need to buy new rubber: the factory tire set mounts directly, saving cost while ensuring Tesla-engineered load ratings and clearances. The secret is in the offsets—custom-tuned to push the wheels flush while keeping the original width.

Fitment & Engineering

This set was engineered with a strength-first philosophy for the demands of a heavy EV on Toronto roads. Structural reinforcements include a reinforced inner lip to reduce bending risk from potholes and knurled bead seats to minimize tire slip under torque.

Even with this strength focus, weight was reduced compared to stock. Final wheel weights are ~26.9 lb (front) and ~28.1 lb (rear), compared to OEM 21” Arachnid wheels at ~32 lb front and ~36 lb rear. That’s a savings of about 16% lighter up front and 22% lighter in the rear—all while being stronger where it matters.

Load capacity was also prioritized. Many forged wheels in this category publish 850–900 kg per-wheel ratings; these KANE Forged wheels are engineered closer to 1,000 kg per wheel, providing 11–18% more margin for the stresses of EV weight and city use.

Fitment was tuned for an OEM+ look up front and an aggressive flush stance at the rear. To address the Model S’s well-known rear inner tire wear, custom camber shims were installed in the rear, holding camber around −1.0° front and −1.4° rear. This balance helps extend tire life while still delivering confident, spirited handling.

Finish & Character

This set is finished in our premium Dark Brushed Black. Unlike a solid powder, the transparent gloss clearcoat highlights the CNC machining lines beneath the surface. In shade it reads as a deep graphite black; in direct sunlight the cut lines reflect light, producing a premium, layered metallic sheen. The effect is understated yet high-end, letting the machining itself become the design.

Result & Impact

The outcome is a luxury EV stance with supercar proportions. The track width is nearly Aventador-wide, yet the wheels are lighter than OEM Arachnids, reinforced for EV weight, and tailored for Toronto roads. With Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires, the setup delivers both grip and refinement, while the Dark Brushed Black finish elevates the design without being flashy.

This build demonstrates the KANE Forged philosophy: forged without compromise. Every detail—from the reinforced lips to the proprietary offsets—was engineered for balance between performance, durability, and aesthetics.
