Fitment & Finish Development

This 2022 Tesla Model 3 project was all about enhancing the car’s stance and presence while keeping it practical for everyday driving. Lowered on TEIN Flex-Z coilovers, the car sits approximately 1” lower front and rear, giving it a clean, athletic look that’s subtle enough for daily use but aggressive enough to stand out.

Fitment & Engineering

For this build, the focus was on combining strength, fitment precision, and OEM+ usability. The wheels were specified in a square 19×8.5 configuration, allowing the use of factory 235/40R19 tires. That means owners retain the ability to rotate tires, keep Tesla’s stock sizing, and avoid the expense of new rubber — all while moving to a forged wheel.

The offsets, kept proprietary to preserve our R&D, were carefully tuned to maximize concavity and presence. The result is a stance that’s not flush, but instead carries a deliberate hint of poke, giving the Model 3 a motorsport-inspired edge.

Because this is an EV build, strength took priority over absolute weight savings. Tesla’s heavy chassis and Toronto’s notoriously rough roads demanded a wheel that could handle more abuse than lightweight designs. To achieve this, material was reinforced in key areas, raising the load rating to 815 kg (1,796 lbs) per wheel. Even with the added strength, weight comes in at only 23.2 lbs per wheel, undercutting the stock 19s and showing that lightweight performance and durability don’t have to be mutually exclusive.

Finish & Character

The chosen finish, Smoke Brushed Black, adds depth and sophistication to the build. Its base tone is a refined gray with brushed texture, but under sunlight the finish reveals subtle gold hues that bring the spokes to life. Dark and understated in the shade, lustrous and premium in the sun — this finish delivers a bespoke, high-end character without being flashy.

Result & Impact

This Model 3 project shows the KANE Forged philosophy in action: forged without compromise. By combining a daily-drivable drop, 19×8.5 square sizing, carefully tuned offsets, and a premium Smoke Brushed Black finish, the car achieves both function and presence.

The reinforced 815 kg (1,796 lbs) load rating ensures peace of mind on city streets, while the 23.2 lb weight improves efficiency over stock. The result is a timeless OEM+ look with real-world usability — a build that redefines what a Tesla Model 3 can look and feel like, while maintaining everyday practicality.
